The card flip game is a nice way of celebrating effort/engagement/achievement in a lesson by distributing rewards whilst being purposeful in terms of assessing student's understanding.

As part of the game, students will be shown 8 cards. Behind each card is a prize (class test, last out, litter duty, 4 x 1 house point, 2 house points and 5 house points).

Choose one person to select a prize card. This will be revealed at the end and will be their prize. Choose 7 other students to control the other cards. To reveal these 7 cards, students will need to answer a relevant question. To answer the question you could use mini white boards to assess the classes understanding. Once answered correctly, the card is revealed and the prize is removed from the prize list.
