Level Up is a numeracy programme that has been specifically designed to nurture and develop users through better understanding core numeracy skills. As a result of using the programme, users will better understand and use Maths in daily life whether that be at home, work or at school. For me, this programme will remove one of the biggest barriers to learning Maths, having weak foundations. In order to progress to higher levels in Maths, students must be fluent in numeracy to allow them to easily build on what they know already. Being strong with mental and written strategies puts students at a distinct advantage at not being hindered along the way.

The programme is split into 6 distinct areas and like with mathswhiteboard.com, it progressively gets more difficult with each star level. All students will begin with the 1 star challenge. If a student achieves 13 or more out of 15 in a test, they can 'Level Up'. By then completing the next challenge, the first 5 questions of the assessment will assess key skills from the previous level as a confidence boosting introduction but also as a way of continually rehearsing what they know already.

Below is a list of all of the resources that you will need whether you are preparing to do a test, resolving issues highlighted by a test or administering a test.

The Test

There are two ways of delivering the assessment within the classroom: 1) Paper test, 2) Online test

Paper assessment

The buttons below link to the Maths White Board worksheet generator. Each time you create a paper test, it will be different to the last. The test is made up of 15 questions. If level 2 to 6 is chosen, the first 5 questions will be based on the previous level. Each test is accompanied with the answers and should prove fairly easy to mark students have completed it. The test should take approximately 10mins to complete. Select the test you would like to create from the options below:

Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6

Online assessment

Create a new room

This tool has been designed for teachers to administer the assessment during lesson time across the class and easily view the results.

Setting a Level Up assessment couldn't be any easier. Using the MWB question bank, this tool will accurately display all strengths and areas to develop for each level a student completes. Students are given a unique test for the level they complete and the result from attempting each question is sent to you. The results will be displayed below once students have logged in and started to answer questions.

Now that you have gained access to the tool, you need to invite your students to this virtual room. There are 3 ways for a student to gain access to Level Up (link will remain active for approximately 2 hours - if you wish to access the results outside of this window, please use the 'Copy a link to this page' feature above):

Click on the link above and paste in MS Teams/Google Classroom for students to be able to access.

Ask students to scan the above QR code with their smartphone or tablet device camera.

To submit the tests to students, please select the button below. Students will then be able to select the start level that they need to Level Up to and you will then see their selection and results from each question.

Generate the assessments and submit to all students
